Aladdin Likes his Old Blog Better

Aladdin likes keeping his websites somewhat focused on one topic or theme. However, managing 37 different blogs is starting to wear down on him, so this blog is shutting its digital doors today. Don't dispair, though! You can still follow Aladdin and his many likes over at his Uni-blog, The Words of Magic. See ya there!

Aladdin Likes Google+

Social networks come and go, come and go, but Google lives forever.
This is why Aladdin has decided to make the transition to Google+.
The ideology behind Google+ is that users own their own data, not the social network company. Users should have complete and total control over their privacy options, and feel safe and secure posting information to their profile. After all, it is THEIR profile.
Facebook, Mr. Big Brother who owns EVERYTHING that you ever post, is the dominant sadist in just about every social  network relationship. Google+ offers Candy and Chocolates, freedom and comfort, but sadly it's still invite only. Aladdin was fortunate enough to get an invitation from Reighard over at themagical.nl and is now Happily broken up with Facebook and in a happy, supportive relationship with Google+. Friend him (old habits die hard) Add him to one of your circles, and be joyous!

Aladdin likes Mushroom Pizza

And now for something completely different…

As you (hopefully) know, Aladdin goes to Chapman University, where he studies Film Production. As a film student, Aladdin is forced has the privilege of watching many student short films, most of which are meh. But occasionally a short film comes along that piques Aladdin's interest enough that he wants to share it on his blog.
Behold: MUSHROOM PIZZA by Kyle Wade

Mushroom Pizza from Kyle Wade on Vimeo.

Mushroom Pizza tells the story of two of the worst pizza delivery boys in history making a very important delivery while high on hallucinogenic mushrooms.

While the story is not of world shattering awesomeness, it is quite evident that the cast and crew had fun making this, and Aladdin thinks it is reflected in how fun it is to watch it.

If you enjoyed it enough to show it to some of your friends, head on over to the official facebook page and click that oh-so-clickable "Like" button.

Thanks for watching!

Aladdin Likes Portal

Aladdin isn't usually a videogame kinda person. He doesn't play Halo, he knows not of World of Warcraft, and he most certainly has never even heard of Minecraft. No sir.
But Aladdin likes Portal.
Why?
Most games are about one of three things: Killing things/people with boomsticks, staring at boobies, and slowly loosing your attention span.
Aladdin will wait patiently while you play the games at the last link.
Ahem.
The concept of Portal (and, by default, Portal 2: The return of that evil talking computer thingy) is relatively interesting in and of itself. Use a gun that does not shoot bullets to move a non-sexualized character through a logic puzzle to kill something that isn't really alive (nor is it a zombie).
Fair enough that the game does include some mindless repetitive tasks and probably will make Aladdin's eyes bleed if he plays it enough, but it is nonetheless fun.
And that's what it really comes down to. Portal is fun. Simple, primordial, fun. Not something that will take over his life like Minecraft has a tendency to do, but a nice timewaster.
Aladdin likes Portal.

Aladdin Likes Blogs!

Yep, he did it. Aladdin finally got one of those new fangled blog things he'd been hearing about. To clarify, though, Aladdin is neutral about blogs. Maybe even a little apprehensive about new ones. But Aladdin likes content. Especially neat, quirky, weird content created by happy mutants like himself.

And so, without further ado, Aladdin presents to the internet: Aladdin Likes Things!
Enjoy.
